The Relationship Between Nurse Workload and Patient Satisfaction in the Surgical Ward Abstract Nursing as a form of professional service is an integral part that cannot be separated from overall health care efforts. Quality nursing services are a determining factor in the level of patient satisfaction. The high demands from the community for nursing services can unconsciously cause a workload for nurses. Workload is a factor that influences patient satisfaction. The productivity of health workers is affected by excessive workload, while the workload is caused by an inadequate number of health workers. Various experiences of measuring patient satisfaction show that efforts to measure patient satisfaction levels are not easy, because there are cultural constraints. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nurse workload and patient satisfaction in the surgical ward of Karanganyar District Hospital. The research design used was correlational with a cross sectional approach. A sample of 41 nurses and 41 patients were obtained using purposive sampling technique. The results of the statistical test using Rank Spearmans obtained the value of rrho or rcount 0.406 > rtable 0.308 and is supported by the sig value < 0.05 (0.008 < 0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between nurse workload and patient satisfaction in the Surgical Ward of Karanganyar District Hospital.
