Abstract

The Relationship Between Blood Glucose Levels and the Incidence of AcuteMyocardial Infarction (AMI) at RSUD dr Iskak TulungagungAbstractAcute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is one of the main causes of death in the community. This isbecause AMI is a cardiovascular disease that has several factors, namely lifestyle, age and diseasehistory, one of which triggers blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study was to analyze therelationship between blood glucose levels and the incidence of acute myocardial infarction in RSUDdr. Iskak Tulungagung. The design of this research is correlational research and the type of data usedis secondary data. The population studied were AMI patients who entered the ER at RSUD dr. IskakTulungagung, with the accidental sampling technique, a sample of 20 AMI patients was obtained in datacollection on 16 – 23 February 2015 The results were analyzed using the Spearman Rho test. The resultsof this study revealed that most (55%) of high glucose levels, while almost all (85%) of the incidence ofAMI STEMI (ST Elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction). The results of the statistical test showed thatp-value = 0.039 at a significant level (α) = 0.05 and r = 0.464. So it can be concluded that there is arelationship between blood glucose levels and the incidence of AMI where AMI is influenced by several 2STETHOSCOPE VOL. 3 NO. 1 - JUNI 2022 ISSN 2722-8118 (Printed) 2723-4096 (Online)factors including age, lifestyle, past medical history such as DM, Hypertension. It is hoped that thecommunity will always control glucose levels by screening them gradually and maintaining a regularlifestyle, diet and activity to prevent the occurrence of AMI.Keywords: Blood Glucose Levels, Incidence of AMI.
