Abstract

ABSTRAK

Penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan dapat menyebabkan masalah kehidupan remaja seperti berkurangnya minat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan masalah interaksi sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara durasi penggunaan gadget terhadap interaksi sosial remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Sampel dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan purposive sampling di sekolah menengah pertama pada usia 13-16 tahun, responden sebanyak 150. Variabel independen dalam penelitian ini adalah durasi penggunaan gadget dan variabel dependen adalah interaksi dengan orang tua, interaksi di lingkungan sekolah dan interaksi di lingkungan masyarakat. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji kendall tau (α< 0.05) Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa durasi penggunaan gadget berkorelasi negatif dengan interaksi sosial remaja dengan orang tua (p=0,000), dan masyarakat (p=0,000) tetapi berkorelasi positif dengan interaksi sosial di sekolah (p=0,000). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan negatif antara durasi penggunaan gadget terhadap interaksi sosial remaja dengan orangtua dan di lingkungan masyarakat.Ada hubungan positif antara durasi penggunaan gadget dengan interaksi sosial remaja di lingkungan sekolah.

Duration of Gadget Usage Associated with Adolescent Social Interaction in SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar

 

ABSTRACT

Excessive use of gadgets can cause adolescent life problems such as reduced interest in daily life and social interaction problems problems problems. This research aims to determine the relationship between the duration of gadget usage on adolescent social interaction. This research used analytic observational with a cross-sectional design. Samples were collected by using purposive sampling in junior high school at the age of 13-16, respondent as much 150. The independent variable in this research is the duration of gadget usage and the dependent variable is interaction with parents, interaction at school, and interaction in society. Instrument’s research using questionnaire.  Data analyzed using the “Kendall tau†test (α<0.05). The results showed that the duration of gadget usage was negatively correlated to social interactions of adolescents with parents (p = 0,000), and in the society (p = 0,000) but positively correlated to the social interaction at school (p = 0,000). The result of the research shows that there is a negative relationship between the duration of gadget usage on the social interaction of adolescents with parents and society. There is a positive relationship between the duration of gadgets with social interaction in the school.
